The mirror phase¶
The mirror is a grey, quiet copy of the world, laid over it. Players who phase into it still walk on the same terrain, but they cannot touch the real world: they cannot break or place blocks, use things, or hurt anything real. What lives there can hurt them.
tested A few things still work from the mirror: doors, trapdoors, fence
gates, buttons and levers (#quantimium:mirror_usable). They work on the real world, so a door you
open from the mirror stands open for everyone, and a lever drives real redstone.
Getting in and out¶
- Tears. untested Uncontained chunks at Medium anomaly or higher tear open on their own for about a minute: the hotter the field, the more often. Walk through one to phase. A way back opens 10–20 blocks away and lasts 30 seconds.
- The Stabilised Portal. A 4×5 frame of
Stabilised Portal Frame with a 2×3 inside, lit
with a
Rift Seed: a wound opened on purpose and held in the frame. It works from both
sides. - Leaving. Walk back through a tear or portal, die, or wait: a five-minute failsafe always brings you home. A collapsing rift throws everyone near it out.
What is there¶
- Flora. Grey plants on every surface, denser as the field gets hotter. They are only records: observers and other mods see air.
- Mirror mites. They roll in around phased players from Medium flux or anomaly, but only hunt
from Medium anomaly up. They grow stronger at High, Critical and Singularity.
tested One killed by a player leaves a
Quantimium Trace a quarter
of the time, in the mirror, for whoever killed it. - Anomalite crystals. They grow on real machines but can only be seen and mined from the mirror,
or cut from the real world by laser light with a Harvest lens sent through a
Rift Lens. - Souls. Living things on the other side show as pale folding tesseracts.
- Rifts, and the Veiled.
